18th-Feb-2009 06:55 pm - shameless. er. shameful, actually.
i can't decide if this is immoral, so i leave the choice to you:
on FT, there is an option that allows you to add comics to your "favorites" list. problem is, you have to be a member. and on the comic fury homepage, there is a list of the "most favorited" comics. i want that list. i covet a spot in its hallowed ranks.
SO, if you feel it's not an immoral act, and you enjoy reading Fishy Talk, then by all means - sign up for a comic fury account, and add FT to your favorites list.

(i'm fairly sure this is considered cheating in most civilized societies.)
9th-Feb-2009 10:46 pm - an update
i know i've already mentioned it, but it bears repeating: FT can now be found at http://www.fishytalk.thecomicseries.com. hope you have some fun with it.
i felt it might be a good idea to let you all know that i'm posting with some freakish regularity since getting my new stylus. i'm aiming for a monday-wednesday-friday kind of schedule, but in truth, it's happening somewhat more often than that. what do you know?
anyway, just thought i'd mention it, in case people were confused about what the hell comes up when they open the page.

also, as a personal aside - thank you. thank you all so much for reading FT, and (i hope) for enjoying it. this comic means more to me than it has any right to, and you all are what gives it the fuel to get up and go. so thanks again. i'm truly grateful.

30th-Jan-2009 12:16 am - NEWS
I HAVE NEWS. GIVEN MY LOWER-CASE PROCLIVITIES, YOU SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THE ALL-CAPS.

I HAVE A WEBSITE NOW. I...KIND OF CAN'T BELIEVE HOW EASY IT WAS. ANYWAY, IT'S NOT ATTRACTIVE, BUT IT HAS MY COMICS ON IT. IT HAS A HOMEPAGE, AND ARCHIVE, A (TINY, SHITTY) BANNER, AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE - FLAVOR-TEXT. I LOVE FLAVOR TEXT.

SO, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO -
FISHY TALK: A WEBCOMIC
22nd-Jan-2009 10:17 pm - Authentic

(please click image.)

PANEL 1:
Howard: O...kay, so obviously you haven't moved since we left, yet you remain remarkably dust-free.  Huh.
Marie: Aaaand you've spent the last month sitting in the sun, yet you still look like a subterranean albino newt.  Interesting.
PANEL 2:
Pistachio: Welcome back.  How was Maui?
Alex: Kind of fucked up.  Thanks for asking.
PANEL:
Howard: Look, you said you wanted a "real Hawaiian experience."

Alex: You made an erupting volcano.  You nearly destroyed the town!
Howard: Ah-hah!  NEARLY.  But it wasn't destroyed, was it?  Magic Hawaiian gods came and saved the town, didn't they?  And then we went for Mai Tai's, just like you wanted, didn't we?

a comic.  i still don't have a copy of photoshop*, nor do i know exactly where my wacom tablet and its stylus have wandered off to.  but my creative draught is apparently over.  today, i've made a comic strip, two character sketches for massively different characters, and come up with an idea for a filler-strip.  the rains have come to the desert at last.
see you in a couple of days.

18th-Sep-2008 02:33 pm - Book review: Light, by Harrison
i regret to say that this is not a comic. it's just a book review. though i guess i might as well start a collection-plate - if i get enough money in donations to buy a copy of photoshop, i'll buy it and start doing the comic again. or, i suppose, you could just wait until someone hires me and starts providing me with disposable income (or any income at all, really).

anyway, this is a book review i just posted on Goodreads. Submitted for your puzzlement.
